PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate quasi normal image signals having the low content of image signals due to fluorescence, in an image acquisition apparatus for simultaneously emitting illumination light and excitation light to an observation target and imaging an image comprising reflected light and the fluorescence.
SOLUTION: The illumination light and exciting light are simultaneously emitted to the observation target 10 and the image comprising the reflected light of the illumination light and the fluorescence is imaged by a CCD 117. In an image processing unit 181, the estimated spectroscopic data of a specified fluorescence wavelength band including the center wavelength band of the fluorescence are calculated for each pixel, from imaged image signals (R, G, B) and an estimation matrix stored beforehand in a memory 190, quasi fluorescence image signals (Rs, Gs, Bs) including the image signals due to the fluorescence are obtained on the basis of the estimated spectroscopic data of the specified fluorescence wavelength band, and the quasi normal image signals (R-Rs, G-Gs, B-Bs) are generated by subtracting the quasi fluorescence image signals (Rs, Gs, Bs) from the imaged image signals (R, G, B).
