The present invention provides a method of treating a patient suffering from pain or other FAAH mediated conditions by administering a fatty acid amide inhibiting amount of a compound represented by the formula: wherein R1 is H R2 is a radical selected from the group consisting of H, hydrocarbyl and substituted hydrocarbyl R3 is a radical selected from the group consisting of H, hydrocarbyl and substituted hydrocarbyl X is CHCH, (CH2)n or O(CH2) n, wherein n is 0 or an integer of from 1 to 4 and W is O, S, or NR6, wherein R6 is selected from the group consisting of H and alkyl.La présente invention concerne un procédé pour traiter un patient souffrant de douleur ou dautres états induits par la FAAH (hydrolase damide dacide gras) par ladministration dune quantité inhibant lamide dacide gras dun composé représenté par la formule : R1 représentant H R2 représentant un radical sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par H, hydrocarbyle et hydrocarbyle substitué R3 représentant un radical sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par H, hydrocarbyle et hydrocarbyle substitué X représentant CHCH, (CH2)n ou O(CH2)n, n valant 0 ou un entier de 1 à 4 et W représentant O, S ou NR6, R6 étant sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par H et alkyle.
