PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which projections on an uneven surface sheet is hardly smashed in a worn condition, which has excellent texture and concealment of absorbed solution, in which the surface sheet hardly generates wrinkle and which has excellent leakage prevention property.SOLUTION: In a complex sheet 10 constructing a surface sheet, a first sheet 1 and a second sheet 2 are partially joined to form a plurality of joint parts, and parts other than the joint parts in the first sheet 1 project in a direction away from the second sheet 2 to form a plurality of projections 41 projecting toward a skin side of a wearer. Whole or a part of the joint parts are longitudinal joint parts 31 extending in a first direction X corresponding to the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. A plurality of second direction joint strings R in which the longitudinal joint parts 31 are regularly arranged along with a second direction Y and two or more types of intervals are formed on the complex sheet 10 in the first direction X.
