PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin which is excellent in emulsification stability, while containing azelaic acid.SOLUTION: The invention provides an external preparation for skin which contains azelaic acid, liquid oil having a polar group in a molecule, water, and an emulsion stabilizing component, and which is emulsified by dispersing at least liquid oil into water. The emulsion stabilizing component is at least one kind of a polymer polymerized by at least (meth)acryloyl dimethyl taurine, a polymer polymerized by at least (meth)acrylamide, and sclerotium gum.
