PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein the relaxation of the wariness of a rat having strong wariness is very difficult because various kinds of parts, such as, an electromagnetic locking means, a main switch, a switch for a sensor, the sensitivity volume of the sensor, a pilot lamp exhibiting on-off state of the switch and a flickering lamp exhibiting capture of an animal, and the sensor are attached a cylindrical body, even though in the conventional techniques, the parts are set on the per wall of the cylindrical body, and the sensor is installed in a sidewall.SOLUTION: The small animal catcher is constituted, such that an inlet 3 is formed at one part in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical body 1, the sensor 12 for detecting the invasion of the small animal from the inlet 3 into the interior of the cylindrical body 1, and an opening and closing lid 7, which is opened or closed by a signal from the sensor 12 are installed in the body 1.
