PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently achieve the workflow of performing overall observation by an extended developed image or an extended cross-sectional image indicating the state of extending a structure on a bent lumen and performing detailed observation by a projection image at a position under consideration found in the image.

SOLUTION: An extended developed image generation part 13 generates the extended developed image DV on the basis of an image VLIindicating the region of a large intestine, view point information VP and a core line CL and stores corresponding information PR in a corresponding information storage part 14. When a position specification reception part 15 receives the specification of the position POI under consideration in the extended developed image DV, a projection image generation part 17 generates the projection image PV for which the position POI under consideration is the center of projection on the basis of the extended developed image DV, the corresponding information PR and the position POI under consideration.
