PURPOSE: A hybrid actuator integrated with a motor and a brake and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce energy consumption by using a torque sensor. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(150) senses whether to stop the driving of a motor. The control unit blocks power supplied to the motor and continuously supplies the power to a brake. A torque sensor(140) is mounted on an output shaft(160). The control unit controls the driving of the motor by using a torque signal as a feed forward term.
