A garden compost bin is made of four sides of corrugated sheet metal which are joined together to form a truncated pyramid with angles of 12-22 deg. to the vertical. The top opening for filling the garden rubbish is closed by a square lid. The side pointing north when on site is lined with heat insulation. To extract compost from the bottom, the bin is partly dipped up to give access to the shovel.
