The present invention involves a removable filter for capturing thrombiin a blood vessel. The filter comprises a plurality of struts having firstendsattached together along a longitudinal axis (X) of the filter. Each strut hasabody member extending from the first end along the longitudinal axis to ananchoring hook defining a strut axis (S). Each strut is configured to movealong a strut path (P) relative to the longitudinal axis between an expandedstate for engaging with the blood vessel and a collapsed state for filterdelivery or retrieval. Each anchoring hook has an angle of up to about90 degrees relative to the strut axis.
