The present invention is primarily directed to a therapeutic composition comprising caffeine, valerenic acid and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). Additional herbal material and other natural products may also be present in the composition. The invention also encompasses the use of this composition in the treatment and/or prevention of anxiety.
