PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastener member and a paper diaper which allow a folded fastener member to be unfolded quickly and easily.SOLUTION: A fastener member 20 provided for an end part of a part 10b around a back side waist of a paper diaper 1 includes a fastener member body 21 and a fastening base material 23. The fastener member body 21 includes: a first part 21a connected to the part 10b around a back side waist a second part 21b adjacent to and in parallel with the part 10b around the back side waist a third part 21c adjacent to and in parallel with the second part 21b a fourth part 21c adjacent to and in parallel with the third part 21c a first fold 21e leading from the first part 21a to the second part 21b a second fold 21f leading from the second part 21b to the third part 21c and a third fold 21g leading from the third part 21c to the fourth part 21d.
