Describes an electrotherapy system, device and method. In one embodiment, a portion of the hepatic branch of the vagus nerve in the liver is stimulated with leads implanted in the liver. In another embodiment, the endoscope is implanted into the target area by an endoscope and by an ultrasound visualization technique, delivering the stimulating member to a location in the gastrointestinal tract.
