PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical puncture needle which causes less peak resistance when the tip of the puncture needle begins piercing the skin, and also causes less pain during puncturing.SOLUTION: The medical puncture needle includes a blade surface 3 at the tip. The blade surface 3 comprises: a top blade edge 34 provided in a central portion of the tip portion and extending in the axial direction； a first side inclined plane 32a extending backwardly along one side, starting at the top blade edge； a second side inclined plane 32b extending backwardly along the other side, starting at the top blade edge； a first side blade edge 33a formed of an outer edge of the first side inclined plane； and a second side blade edge 33b formed of an outer edge of the second side inclined plane. In the tip portion of the blade surface, the angle between the first side blade edge and the second side blade edge is 60 to 70 degrees and the angle between the first side inclined plane and the second side inclined plane is 110 to 125 degrees.
