The stabilizer (10) has a stabilizing element (14) resiliently mounted with respect to another stabilizing element (12). A locking unit (32) is connected to the latter element. The locking unit is brought for limitation of a spring movement of the latter element with respect to the former element in a predetermined locking position. The locking unit forms a single-sided stop in relation to a compression movement of the former element with respect to the latter element, in the locking position. The stop cooperates with a limiting unit (48). The locking unit is designed as a locking flap (34).
