PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel having a magnetic brake means that can generate significant brake force.SOLUTION: A fishing reel includes: a spool 3 that rotates as a fishing line is sent out a spool shaft 21 provided so as to associate with the spool 3 to be in a relatively rotational relationship with the spool and a magnetic brake device 40 provided between the spool 3 and the spool shaft 21 and that applies brake force to the spool 3.
