PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for the skin, which inhibits a bad odor arising from polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside, and is free of stickiness and high in an effect on moisturizing.SOLUTION: The polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside-containing external preparation for the skin contains 5-30 times weight and 0.075-2 times weight of a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol and mucopolysaccharides, respectively, on the basis of the weight of polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside.
