The present invention relates to a Chlorella vulgaris ABC-002 strain with excellent cell growth rate at a low temperature and a room temperature and productivity of lipid including fatty acid with 16 and 18 carbon atoms, and a use thereof. A novel Chlorella vulgaris ABC-002 strain, which is capable of producing fatty acid with 16 and 18 carbon atoms and ensures high growth rate by being adequate to domestic natural environment, has been isolated. The novel Chlorella ABC-002 strain of the present invention shows high growth rate at the low temperature and the room temperature, and is capable of photoautotrophically over-accumulating lipid including fatty acid with 16 and 18 carbon atoms. In addition, the novel Chlorella vulgaris ABC-002 strain of the present invention produces oleic acid (omega 9), linoleic acid (omega 6), and alpha-linolenic acid (omega 3) which are important nutritionally. Since lipid having different content in oleic acid or alpha-linolenic acid can be produced depending on the culture temperatures, the strain can be useful for producing nutritionally useful lipid and raw materials for biofuel.본 발명은 C16 및 C18의 지방산을 포함한 지질 생산성 및 저온 및 상온에서 세포 생장률이 우수한 클로렐라 불가리스 ABC-002 균주 및 이의 용도에 관한 것으로, 국내 자연 환경에 적합하여 생장속도가 빠르고, C16 및 C18 지방산을 생산하는 신규한 클로렐라 불가리스 ABC-002 균주를 분리하였다. 본 발명의 신규한 클로렐라 ABC-002 균주는 저온 및 상온에서 높은 생장성을 보이며, C16 및 C18 지방산을 포함한 지질을 광독립영양적으로 과량 축적할 수 있다. 또한, 본 발명의 상기 신규한 클로렐라 불가리스 ABC-002 균주는 영양학적으로 중요한 올레산(ω9), 리놀레산(ω6) 및 알파-리놀렌산(ω3)을 생산하며, 특히 배양 온도 조건에 따라 올레산 또는 알파-리놀렌산의 함량이 다른 지질 생산이 가능하므로, 이는 바이오연료의 원료 및 영양학적으로 유용한 지질의 생산용 균주로 매우 유용하다.
