PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the head or the hair or the like from getting caught in a lift mechanism when elevating a sitting part by the lift mechanism.SOLUTION: An opening/closing type bathtub 10 includes a bathtub body, and a door part 13 for opening and closing an opening 12 provided on the upper side of a first sidewall of the bathtub body. On a third sidewall 11c of the bathtub body, a lift mechanism 16 having a column support 18 for supporting a sitting part 19 and an elevating/lowering drive part 26 for elevating and lowering the sitting part 19 along the column support 18 is provided. The elevating/lowering drive part 26 is stored in a storage box 17 provided on a back surface of the sidewall 11c. To an upper surface of the sidewall 11c, a cover member 30 for covering the elevating/lowering drive part 26 is locked so as to be detached with little force. The cover member 30 is easily detached from a locking position with little force even when the head or the hair or the like gets caught when elevating the sitting part.
