PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which enables a user to check a direction by touching a surface sheet with a hand to prevent the absorbent article from being worn in a deviated state with respect to underwear by a sense of touch.SOLUTION: A surface sheet 2 in an absorbent article 1 includes two layers of fiber layers including a heat fusion fiber, and is configured such that fusion parts 21 where the two layers of fiber layers are compressed and are heat-sealed each other make a plurality of polygonal areas 22. The polygonal areas 22 are formed to align in two different directions. Each of the polygonal areas 22 has a polygonal contour of the identical shape and dimensions to be aligned on a plane without a gap, and the adjacent polygonal areas 22 are arranged in such a manner that sides of a polygon face each other and that two facing sides are in parallel with each other. The polygonal area 22 has the periphery enclosed by a linear bulging part 25 and a central bulging part 26 enclosed by the plurality of fusion parts 21. The central bulging part 26 has a back indicating part 27 shaped to gradually narrow toward a back end 26e.
