PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the stripe noise of an observation image without applying a high gain to the output signal from an imaging element.SOLUTION: In this electron endoscopic system equipped with an endoscope having the imaging element and a video processor for forming an image on the basis of the output signal from the imaging element, the average value of the brightness of a first pixel and the brightness of a third pixel is calculated using the brightness of a noticeable pixel calculated on the basis of the noticeable pixel and an adjacent pixel, the brightness calculated from the pixel adjacent to the noticeable pixel and the adjacent pixel in a first line and the brightness calculated from the pixel adjacent to the noticeable pixel and the adjacent pixel in a third line in the first-third continuous lines of the imaging element and it is determined whether either one of the noticeable pixel and the adjacent pixel is saturated in a second line. In a saturated case, the brightness of the noticeable pixel is corrected using the average value and these processings are repeatedly executed with respect to the respective pixels of the second line.
