In general, the DPPH and ORP methods are used to obtain extracts, and these methods have been used to measure and evaluate antioxidant effects. By confirming high values as measured by these two methods, the antioxidant effects of Cephalotaxus and Polygonatum can be confirmed. The DPPH method is a method that takes measurements by converting a percentage of a value obtained from a decrease in absorption strength at a wavelength of 517 nm as diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (free radicals) converts to diphenylpicrylhydrazine (non-radical) by reacting with a sample of traditional medicine material. That is, the DPPH method is a method of measuring an antioxidant effect indirectly by measuring a degree of decrease in radicals with a spectrophotometer. In particular, as the radicals change in color from purple to yellow due to the sample of traditional medicine material which is an antioxidant material, a decrease thereof is measured. The ORP method typically targets a value at 390 mV, and when this value is either stable or increased, it can be interpreted as that the sample of traditional medicine material has a good antioxidant reaction. In particular, the ORP method is a method using the amount of oxygen produced. In other words, if the amount of oxygen in the sample decreases, the ORP value decreases.
