The invention relates to novel, probiotic, anti-inflammatory strains of Bifidobacterium longum, their use for treatment of diseases, and for preparation of human or pet food or pharmaceutical compositions. The strains produce high amounts of exopolysaccharides with a high content of mannose- and glucose residues.
