PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a Dendropanax morbifera leaf extract is provided to ensure antitussive activity and expectoration removal without side effects using a hot water extract of Dendropanax morbifera leaves and a chloroform fraction of a Dendropanax morbifera leaf extract. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for antitussive activity and expectoration removal contains a Dendropanax morbifera leaf extract as an active ingredient. A crude extract of Dendropanax morbifera leaves is prepared using a solvent selected among water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, and a mixture thereof. The daily dose of the extract is 10-2000 mg/kg. [Reference numerals] (AA) Extract 1kg of Dendropanax morbifera leaves by hot water extraction using H2O at 100°；C and dry； (BB) Sequentially fraction 249g of the hot water extract using hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and butanol according to the polarity of each solvent우리나라 천연자원인 황칠 잎 추출물을 유효성분으로 하는 진해 또는 거담제거에 작용하는 고부가가치 기능성 건강식품을 제공하는 것으로 천연원료를 사용함으로써 장기간 복용하여도 부작용 없이 안전한 진해 또는 거담제거 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것으로로 물, 메탄올, 에탄올, 프로판올, 이소프로판올, 부탄올 또는 이들의 혼합용매 중 어느 하나에서 가용하여 추출한 황칠 잎 조추출물에 비극성용매로서 헥산, 클로로포름, 디클로메탄 및 에틸아세테이트 중 어느 하나의 비극성가용추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 진해 또는 거담제거 조성물을 제공한다.
