The present invention relates to the use of phlorotannins, in particular extracts of brown algae of the fucaceae family, in particular of the genus Fucus or Ascophyllum, for stimulating the symbiosis between a plant and a mycorrhizal fungus or a rhizobium. It also relates to a fertilizer product containing phlorotannins and their uses in a plant treatment process. La présente invention concerne l'utilisation des phlorotannins, notamment extraits d'algues brunes de la famille des fucacées, notamment du genre Fucus ou Ascophyllum, pour stimuler la symbioses entre une plante et un champignon mycorhizien ou un rhizobium. Elle concerne également un produit fertilisant contenant des phlorotannins et leur utilisations dans un procédé de traitement des plantes.
