The present invention relates to certain SGLT-2 inhibitors, such as ertugliflozin or a co-crystal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, for treating and/or preventing metabolic disorders, such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus or pre-diabetes, in patients with renal impairment or chronic kidney disease (CKD). The present invention also relates to methods for preventing neuronal damage following the incidence of ischemic stroke and close-head traumatic brain injury in animals comprising the step of administering to an animal, in need of such treatment, a therapeutically effective amount of ertugliflozin or a co-crystal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.La présente invention concerne certains inhibiteurs de SGLT-2 tels que l'ertogliflozine ou un cocristal ou un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celle-ci, pour le traitement et/ou la prévention de troubles métaboliques, comme le diabète sucré de type 1 ou de type 2, ou le prédiabète, chez des patients présentant une insuffisance rénale ou une maladie rénale chronique (CKD). La présente invention concerne également des procédés pour prévenir un dommage neuronal à la suite de l'incidence d'un accident vasculaire cérébral ischémique et d'une lésion cérébrale traumatique crânienne fermée chez des animaux, comprenant l'étape consistant à administrer à un animal, ayant besoin d'un tel traitement, une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'ertugliflozine ou d'un cocristal ou d'un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celle-ci.
