PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling weeds to green a ground area, comprising planting and overgrowing specific plants on a green land, or the like, by which the overgrowth of excessive weeds can be prevented in a maintenance-free or low maintenance state without damaging a spectacle.SOLUTION: This method for controlling the weeds to green the ground, comprising sowing a seed mixture of several kinds of sowable and overgrowable ground-covering perennial plants having short plant lengths on the ground area to be applied, and proliferating the perennial plants to green the ground area, is characterized by using a combination of a base plant having a continuous weed-controlling effect as a main plant with a preceding plant for reinforcing the weed-controlling effect for a period until the sufficient growth of the base plant.
