The articulating bed includes a support frame 10 having a head end rail 113a, a foot end rail 13b, and side frame rails 11a, 11b. The body support frame 16 is rotatably connected to the first cross member 20 in the frame. A lifting assembly (22) for the upper body support frame has two angular arms (24) hinged to the first cross member. A first wheel pair 28 is attached to the angular arms at the apex and a second wheel pair 29 is attached at the end of the arms on the circle from the hinges. A first actuator 21 is attached to the cross brace 23 extending between the angular arms at the head end rail.
