PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation therapy planning function with which an efficient and appropriate radiation therapy plan is realized compared to a conventional one.SOLUTION: An apparatus for determining a contour of a therapeutic region in a patient receives input about a contour of at least one risky organ adjacent to the therapeutic region and input about an initial contour of the therapeutic region predicts radiation side effect on the at least one risky organ based on the contour of at least one risky organ, the initial contour of the therapeutic region, and a radiation therapy plan determines whether the predicted radiation side effect exceeds a threshold and determines a contour of the therapeutic region and a certain corrected contour of the therapeutic region until a termination condition is satisfied by correcting the initial contour of the therapeutic region repeatedly.
