An object of the present invention is to provide a fishing reel (100) configured to suppress formation of a dead space on the outer circumferential side of an anti-reverse device (20) and thus reduced in size. The fishing reel (20) includes a reel body (1), a drive shaft (6) caused to rotate by an operation of a handle (5), an anti-reverse device (20) interposed between the reel body (1) and the drive shaft (6), and a cylinder-shaped cylindrical member (30) disposed on an outer circumferential side of the anti-reverse device (20). A switching control member (24) of the anti-reverse device (20) and the cylindrical member (30) are engaged with each other, and a swiveling operation of the cylindrical member (30) causes the drive shaft (6) to switch to an anti-reverse state or a reversible state.
