The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis comprising a transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma (TIF1) expression or activity enhancer as an active ingredient, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating the liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis comprising the TIF1expression or activity enhancer as the active ingredient, and to a screening method thereof. The pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis comprising the TIF1expression or activity enhancer as the active ingredient, according to the present invention, inhibits the activity of hepatic stellate cells (HSC), decreases the expression of -SMA protein or the secretion of collagen type I, and ultimately, thereby being expected as a preventive or treatment agent for the liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis. In addition, the composition of the present invention is expected to be useful as a method for screening medicines for liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis.본 발명은 간 섬유화 또는 간경화 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로 TIF1γ의 발현 또는 활성 증강제를 유효성분으로 포함하는 간 섬유화 또는 간경화 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 이의 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 TIF1γ(transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma)의 발현 또는 활성 증강제를 유효성분으로 포함하는 간 섬유화 또는 간경화 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물은 간성상세포(HSC； hepatic stellate cell)의 활성을 억제하고, α-SMA 단백질의 발현 또는 collagen Type I의 분비를 감소시킴으로써, 궁극적으로 간 섬유화 또는 간경화의 예방 또는 치료제로서의 개발이 기대된다. 이에 더하여, 본 발명의 조성물은 간 섬유화 또는 간경화 약물의 스크리닝 방법으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
