A process for preparing (±) N- [1- (4-fluorophenyl) -2- (1-ethylpiperidine-4-yl) ethyl] -4-nitrobenzamide of formula or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, consisting in that ethyl 4- fluorobenzoic acid is reacted with 4-picoline in tetrahydrofuran in the presence of a catalyst or a condensing agent to give 1- (4-fluorophenyl) -2- (4-pyridyl) ethanone, which is alkylated etilgalogenidom and the resulting pyridinium salt is subjected to catalytic reduction with hydrogen in the presence of a palladium or a platinum catalyst with addition of ontsentrirovannoy hydrochloric acid to obtain 2- (1-ethylpiperidine-4-yl) -1- (4-fluorophenyl) ethanone formulykotory subjected to reductive amination to give [2- (1-ethylpiperidine-4-yl) -1- (4- fluorophenyl) ethyl] amine, followed by reaction of the latter with an acid chloride of 4-nitrobenzoic acid to give (±) N- [1- (4-fluorophenyl) -2- (1-ethylpiperidine-4-yl) ethyl] -4-nitrobenzamide of formula (I) in free form or in a pharmaceutically acceptable soli.2.
