Bar soap compositions and bar soaps formed therefrom which provide an effective antimicrobial benefit against gram positive and gram negative bacteria, which bar soap compositions comprise at least 85%wt. of an antimicrobial system which is a soap constituent of potassium soaps based on saponified fatty acids, wherein of the potassium soaps of saponified fatty acids present are potassium soaps of C12-C16 saturated fatty acids, and wherein at least about 50% of the amount of the potassium soaps of C12-C16 saturated fatty acids present are C12 saturated fatty acids potassium soaps, and wherein an aqueous elution of the antimicrobial system exhibits effective antimicrobial benefit against gram positive and gram negative bacteria even in the absence of further germicidal compounds.Linvention concerne des compositions de savon en pain et des savons en pain formés à partir de celles-ci qui fournissent un avantage antimicrobien efficace contre des bactéries à Gram positif et à Gram négatif, compositions de savon en pain qui comprennent au moins 85 % massiques dun système antimicrobien qui est un constituant de savon des savons de potassium à base dacides gras saponifiés, les savons de potassium dacides gras saponifiés présents étant des savons de potassium dacides gras saturés C12-C16, et au moins 50 % de la quantité des savons de potassium dacides gras saturés C12-C16 présents étant des savons de potassium dacides gras saturés C12, et une élution aqueuse du système antimicrobien présentant un avantage antimicrobien efficace contre des bactéries à Gram positif et à Gram négatif même en labsence dautres composés germicides.
