PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip applier having a jaw closure mechanism configured to maximize the ratio of jaw closure force to drive force.SOLUTION: The jaw closure mechanism for use in a surgical clip applier has first and second jaws. The jaw closure mechanism includes first and second eccentric wheels and a cable.
