PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine overflowing of any character string out of an indication cell and to automatically correct the overflowing in an image processing apparatus such as an ultrasonic diagnosing apparatus.SOLUTION: At a preliminary stage of generating a bit map image, pixel values to be assigned to characters, pixel values to be assigned to inside indication cells, and pixel values to be assigned to outside indication cells are differentiated from one another. At the stage of evaluating the bit map image, pixels constituting characters are selected as pixels to be noted, their surroundings are referenced and, if any pixel outside a cell is found, the presence of overflowing is determined. After processing corrections including a change in character size, the presence or absence of overflowing is checked again.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】超音波診断装置等の画像処理装置において、表示セルからの文字列のはみ出しを自動的に判定し、またそれを自動的に修正できるようにする。【解決手段】ビットマップイメージを生成する前段階において、文字に対して与える画素値と、表示セル内に対して与える画素値と、表示セル外に与える画素値とをそれぞれ異ならせておく。ビットマップイメージの評価の段階で、文字を構成する各画素を注目画素とし、その周囲を参照し、そこにセル外の画素値が存在していた場合にはみ出し有りを判定する。そして文字サイズの変更等の修正処理を施した上で再びはみ出しの有無が検査される。【選択図】図8
