The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pumpkin tendril extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases, and to manufacturing a method thereof, and more particularly, in the present invention, an anti-inflammatory composition comprising the pumpkin tendril extract as a natural raw material is manufactured, and by using the same, the anti-inflammatory composition can be applied to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases which can be safely used for a human body without toxicity and side effects. More specifically, the present inventors conducted an animal experiment to determine whether an extract of hot water or ethanol extracted from the pumpkin tendril has an anti-inflammatory effect, and as a result, it was confirmed that the pumpkin tendril inhibits the manufacture of IL-6 and TNF-, which are inflammatory mediators to have excellent anti-inflammatory activity, and that there is no cytotoxicity through evaluation of cell viability (%).본 발명은 호박손 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 염증성 질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 상세하게는 천연원료인 호박손 추출물을 함유하는 항염증 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 독성 및 부작용 없이 인체에 안전하게 사용될 수 있는 염증성 질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물로 응용할 수 있다.더욱 상세하게는 호박손으로부터 열수 추출 또는 에탄올 추출된 추출물이 항염효과를 갖는지에 대한 동물실험을 실시한 결과, 염증 유발 매개체인 IL-6 및 TNF-α의 생성을 억제하여 우수한 항염 효능을 갖으며, 세포 생존율(%) 평가를 통하여 세포 독성이 전혀 없다는 것을 확인하였다.
