The invention relates to the veterinary field. Proposed is a method for temporary blocking sexual function in a male mammal including behavioural phenomena (search for a partner, vocalization, etc.). The method comprises administration of a pharmaceutical composition once or twice to an animal, wherein said composition comprises the following active ingredients: an α-adrenergic blocking agent, tropic to the posterior nucleus of the hypothalamus, melatonin, and a steroid with gestagenic activity. The method makes it possible, while using the minimal dose of the steroid hormone, to inhibit sexual behaviour of a male animal for the period of several weeks to half a year (depending on the length of the daytime period). The pharmaceutical composition is intended for transdermal administration during any period of the sexual cycle. The use of the drug preparation is not associated with any side effects characteristic of the drugs of this type.L'invention concerne le domaine de la médecine vétérinaire. L'invention porte sur un procédé de blocage provisoire des fonctions sexuelles de mammifères mâles, notamment des phénomènes comportementaux (recherche de partenaire, vocalisation, etc.). Le procédé consiste à injecter à l'animal, à une ou deux reprises, une composition pharmaceutique comprenant en tant que principe actif un agent bloquant α-adrénergique tropique par rapport aux noyaux arrière de l'hypothalamus, de la mélatonine et un composé stéroïde à action progestative. Le procédé permet, même en cas de dose minimale d'hormone stéroïde, de bloquer le comportement sexuel des mâles pendant une période allant de plusieurs semaines à six mois (en fonction de la durée du jour). La composition pharmaceutique est destinée à l'administration transdermique pendant n'importe quelle période du cycle.
