PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire having a coil at a tip part, which prevents the coil from breaking even if the tip part is stacked at a narrow part or the like of a blood vessel.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 comprises: a core shaft 2 an outer coil 3 provided so as to cover an outer periphery of a tip part of the core shaft 2 a distal tip 4 in which a tip of the outer coil 3 and the tip of the core shaft 2 are joined an outer coil base end joint part 31 which joins a base end of the outer coil 3 to an outer peripheral surface of the core shaft and an inner coil 5 provided inside the outer coil 3 so as to cover the outer periphery of the tip part of the core shaft 2 and to have a gap between an inner periphery of the outer coil 3. An external diameter of the inner coil 5 is 87% or more of an internal diameter of the outer coil 3. Moreover, the inner coil 5 has the substantially same length as the outer coil 3.
