A method of application of an electrocautery for thermal stimulation of the vaginal mucosa via the contact between the electrodes of the electrocautery, wherein in order to treat the vaginal mucosa, the gynaecological head of the electrocautery is connected via the working electrode to a direct current source, whose grounding electrode is connected to the skin of the patient to create a contact between these two electrodes. The non-metallic gynaecological head which is adapted for direct contact with the vaginal mucosa, is gradually inserted into the vagina and pulled out while providing a direct current up to 2 mA at a source voltage of 5 kV and power up from 5 to 10 W, whereby the front and rear vaginal mucosa is heated to 40 to 45 °C and thus neocollagenesis is stimulated, i.e. activation of collagen-producing fibroblasts, stimulation of cell division and renewal of the extracellular matrix. The head, which is adapted for direct contact with the vaginal mucosa, contains an applicator (1) in the shape of a hollow cylinder insertable into the handle (2), where it is tightly fixed in its working position； at its outer end, the applicator (1) of the head is connected to the tip with a shaped working electrode (5) and closed by a sealed lid (4).
