PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optometer capable of catching rapidly the other eye after executing measurements of ophthalmic characteristics of one eye even when focusing accuracy to the eye to be examined is coarse.SOLUTION: The optometer includes: a controlling and calculating part 110 which controls a CCD 44 so that the image of a front eye part can be obtained after a measurement of one eye, the left eye is finished, and controls a driving part 30 so that an apparatus body is moved in the direction from the left eye to the right eye and a displaying part 13 for displaying the image of the front eye part focused into an image on the CCD 44.
