PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to change an optical path or the length of an optical path without using a mechanical mechanism.SOLUTION: A liquid optical device 100 that emits incident light as reflection light or transmission light includes a polar liquid 132 and a nonpolar liquid 133, which are separated, an electrode drive electrode layer 123 and a transparent electrode 129 for applying voltage to the polar liquid 132, and a control part 101 for controlling one or both of a place to which the voltage is applied and the voltage. By the control, the direction of a boundary surface 135 of the two kinds of liquids is changed, and by the change in the direction of the boundary surface 135, the reflection direction of the light or the phototropism direction in the boundary surface 135 is changed.
