The food product in the form of a crystalline food e.g. salt, comprises form-stable compact plates or tablets, where the flowable crystalline food present in grain or granulate form is directly injected to the plates or the tablets by a rolling mill (17) without supplying humidity and adding binder or adhesive. The grains or granulates have a diameter of 1.2-1.3 mm. The plates or the tablets have the same thickness, and/or shapes and/or sizes differ from each other. Each of the plates or the tablets has a thickness of 0.5-1 mm, a size of 1-1.5 cm and/or irregular shape. The food product in the form of a crystalline food e.g. salt, comprises form-stable compact plates or tablets, where the flowable crystalline food present in grain or granulate form is directly injected to the plates or the tablets by a rolling mill (17) without supplying humidity and adding binder or adhesive. The grains or granulates have a diameter of 1.2-1.3 mm. The plates or the tablets have same thickness, and/or shapes and/or sizes differ from each other. Each of the plates or the tablets has a thickness of 0.5-1 mm, a size of 1-1.5 cm and/or irregular shape. The crystalline food is transferred with edible natural ingredient additives such as spices, herbs or vegetable juices. The edible additives consist of sweet herbs, oil-containing spices, herb mixture and/or spice mixture. The plates contain herbs (6-8 wt.%), spices (4-5 wt.%) and herb-, spices- or herb-spices mixture (4-6 wt.%). The rolling mill has two rollers (13) moving in opposite directions with profiled roller surface, and a gap (19) formed between the rollers. The injection of the flowable food is carried out over the gap under the formation of a back pressure on the crystalline food. The food product is producible such that the crystalline food, which is not injected in a conduit through the rolling mill, and/or the plates, which does not fulfills the requirements, are sifted to a certain minimum size and/or are again guided to t
