PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medical appliance such as an endoscope or an electrophysiological catheter, which has an insertion part for being inserted into a patients body, from being cut in an unintended position.SOLUTION: A medical appliance of the present invention includes: a curved deformation part a deformation force transfer mechanism that is connected to a part of the curved deformation part and an operation part that imparts a deformation force or a shape retention force to the curved deformation part by controlling tension applied to the deformation force transfer mechanism.
