PURPOSE: A novel cosmetic composition for antioxidation or whitening is provided to suppress tyrosinase activity and to suppress reactive oxygen species. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for antioxidation or whitening contains a compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The compound is selected from compounds of chemical formulas 1-5. The compound is derived from stems of Ficus erecta var. sieboldii. The extract is isolated using water, ethanol, methanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, acetone, hexane, ether, benzene, chloroform, ethyl acetate or methylene chloride. The solvent extract contains the compounds. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of a skin lotion, skin softener, skin toner, astringent, lotion, milk lotion, moisture lotion, massage cream, nutrition cream, moisture cream, hand cream, essence, pack, soap, shampoo, cleansing foam, cleansing lotion, body cleanser, emulsion or eye shadow.본 발명에 따른 새로운 미백용 및 항산화 화장료 조성물은 멜라닌 색소의 형성 과정에 필수적으로 요구되는 것으로 알려진 티로시나아제의 활성을 억제하는 효과가 우수하고, 더불어 피부 노화를 유발하고 주름 및 기미, 주근깨 생성을 촉진하는 것으로 알려진 활성산소종의 형성을 억제하는 항산화 효과 또한 우수하므로, 과도한 멜라닌 색소 침작을 예방 또는 해결할 수 있는 미백용 화장료 조성물로 유용하게 사용할 수 있으며, 피부 미백 또는 항산화 작용을 위한 약학적 또는 식품용 조성물로도 사용할 수 있다. 본 발명에 따른 새로운 화합물들은 천연물에서 추출 가능한 바, 약물에 대한 독성 및 부작용도 없어 장기간 복용시에도 안심하고 사용할 수 있으며 체내에 안정한 효과가 있다.
