The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition or a food composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating cancer, containing a mulberry extract as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the mulberry (Cheongil mulberry variety) extract has the high content of cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G), and exhibits capability of inducing apoptosis of breast cancer cells as well as efficacy of inhibiting the growth of carcinoma.
