The present invention provides a new method for inhibiting and preventing survival, tumorigenesis and metastasis of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in a subject using Collagen XVII (Col XVII) inhibitor to CSCs, or a use of Col XVII inhibitor for the manufacture of a medicament for inhibiting and preventing survival, tumorigenesis and metastasis of CSCs.
