The thrombus detection system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a laser generating a laser pulse and irradiating the laser pulse to a blood vessel a sensor detecting photoacoustic emitted from the blood vessel to which the laser pulse is irradiated a photoacoustic generation part generating a photoacoustic image by using the detection result of the sensor an ultrasonic image generation part generating an ultrasonic image of the blood vessel and an extraction part extracting thrombus by using the photoacoustic image and the ultrasonic image.
