The present invention provides a vial unit for storing a biological sample, the vial unit 5 comprising a body comprising a chamber for containing the biological sample, the body having a top and a base； the top comprising an opening for accessing the chamber； and a cap having a first and second end, the second end is adapted to engage the body to cover the opening, wherein the base of the body is adapted to engage a first end of a cap of the another vial unit. The inter-vial unit engagement capability optimizes storage space for 10 storage of multiple biological samples using existing equipment/infrastructure, thereby reducing storage and utility costs. Intra-vial unit engagement of the cap and the body further prevents contamination of the biological sample being stored, especially when multiple vial units are handled by a user.La présente invention concerne une unité de flacon pour stocker un échantillon biologique, l'unité de flacon comprenant un corps comportant une chambre pour contenir l'échantillon biologique, le corps ayant une partie supérieure et une base； la partie supérieure comprenant une ouverture permettant d'accéder à la chambre； et un capuchon présentant une première et une seconde extrémité, la seconde extrémité étant conçue pour venir en prise avec le corps pour couvrir l'ouverture, la base du corps étant conçue pour venir en prise avec une première extrémité d'un capuchon de l'autre unité de flacon. La capacité de mise en prise inter-unités de flacon permet d'optimiser l'espace de stockage pour le stockage de plusieurs échantillons biologiques au moyen d'un équipement/infrastructure existant, ce qui permet de réduire les coûts d'installation et de stockage. La mise en prise inter-unités de flacon du capuchon et du corps empêche également la contamination de l'échantillon biologique qui est stocké, en particulier lorsque de multiples unités de flacon sont manipulées par un utilisateur.
