PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable and absorbent bone fixation material with high strength/high elastic modulus which is applied for a medical field.
SOLUTION: A short-fiber reinforced composite is used as the bone fixation material by defining a biodegradable and absorbent polylactic acid polymer being a thermoplastic resin as a matrix. Specifically, a stereocomplex fiber obtained by blending poly-L-lactic acid with poly-D-lactic acid or fiber-shape hydroxyapatite is used as a fiber for FRP.
