A rectangular baler comprising a bale chamber(1) a compacting plunger (6) moveable between a retracted position and an extended position an ejection arrangement (7) provided in a wall (4) comprising a shuttle assembly (201) with at least one dog (212, 213) mounted for protruding from said wall (4) when the shuttle assembly (201) is moving from a rest position in the forward direction to move one or more bales (8) forward wherein at least one end dog (212, 213) is located in the rest position of the shuttle assembly (201) in a zone (Z) near of the plunger (6) in the extended position thereof, such that when the shuttle assembly (201) moves in the forward direction, said at least one end dog (212, 213) is engageable behind a bale (8) adjacent the inlet (2) of the bale chamber (1).
