This invention is directed to a RNA interference (RNAi) agent and the use of that RNAi agent to treat hepatitis B infection in individuals, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing the RNAi agents of the invention. The RNAi agents, or constructs for expressing them are utilised to inhibit expression of at least one Hepatitis B virus (HBV) gene, where the agent comprises an effector sequence complementary to or substantially complementary to a predicted sequence transcribed from a target region. In some forms of the invention, the agent has more than one effector sequence.
